Mushrooms / toadstool is a fleshy , spore - bearing fruiting body of the fungus , mostly produced above the soil .Mushrooms are a rich in proteins and anti oxidents  .Moreover they are the low calorie source for fiber.Standard name for the mushroom is Agaricus Bisporus .Mostly mushrooms are most often applied to those fungi Basidiomycota Agaricomycetes , which has a stem ( stipe ), a cap ( Pileus ), and gills ( lamellae, sing .lamella ) on the underside of the cap.They are also describes a wide variety of other gilled fungi , which is with or with out stems , ther fore they are usually describe with the fleshy fruiting bodies of some Ascomycota.These gills of the mushrooms produces microscopic spores that help the fungus to spread across the ground or the surface.

Mushrooms are rich in low calorie source of fibre, protein and anti oxidants .They may also help to lessen the risk of developing serious health conditions, such as Alzheimer's disease, heart attack , cancer and diabetes.Some other research has shown mushrooms may also protective against cancers of liver, uterus, pancreas and stomach as well as acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

 Ingredients

Mushroom- 250 grams
Green chilies- Two Nos
Big Onion - One Nos, Small
Coconut - One fistful, freshly grated
Curry leaves- One stick


Method of preparation

Take three mushrooms, wash well.
Remove its outer skin, chop into small pieces.
Into a heavy bottom pan, add chopped mushrooms , chopped green chilies , one small onion and one fistful of freshly grated coconut.
Add salt and stir well.
Cover and cook on medium flame .
Stir in between.
Cook mushrooms until it softens.
Serve with hot rice and porridge.
Avoid eating non vegetarian dishes along with mushrooms as it causes indigestion.
