Carrot Thoran|| Carrot Stir Fry|| Ep No :187


Carrot is a root vegetable, typically orange in color, though variants color include purple, black, red, white and yellow.The plant originated in persia and was originally cultivated for its leaves and seeds.The most commonly eaten part of the plant is the taproot , although the stems and leaves are also eaten.Carrots are commonly consumed raw or cooked in various cuisines.



 Ingredients

Carrot - One Nos
Green Chilies- Two Nos
Coconut oil - Three Teaspoon
Mustard seeds - Quarter teaspoon
Curry Leaves- One Stick
Turmeric powder- Quarter teaspoon
Coconut - One fistful , freshly grated
Salt - As per taste
Water - As required


Method of preparation

Take one carrot and chop them finely.
Add two chopped green chilies
In a pan add three tablespoon of coconut oil,
When oil heats up, add quarter teaspoon of mustard seeds.
Once mustard seeds pop up, add one stick fresh curry leaves.
Now add finely chopped carrots.
Add salt for taste and quarter teaspoon of turmeric powder .
Mix well.
Now add a fistful of freshly grated coconut and little water for cooking carrot.
Stir well , cover and cook on medium flame.
Serve with hot rice or porridge.
