Muringayilaa Ozhichu Curry || Drumstick Leaves Curry || Ep No :100

Drum stick tree is considered as 'super plant' in our system as per ayurveda due to its unique and powerful properties. Drumstick Leaves are rich source of Iron. It regulates blood pressure and control cholesterol. It boosts immunity and purify blood.Drumstick Leaves are rich in anti oxidents. It has many significant vitamins and minerals. The leaves of drumsticks are seven times more vitamin C than oranges and fifteen times more potassium than that in banana's. Moreover it consists of protein, amino acids and calcium which is very much essential to develop body muscles.




 Take 5 tablespoon of grated coconut, quarter teaspoon cumin seeds , a pinch of turmeric powder quarter teaspoon red chili powder .

Add chopped 6 shallots, 2 garlic, pour quarter glass water, grind well.

Take a small ball size tamarind , soak in water.

Transfer grinded mix to an earthen pot  .

Add half glass water to the mixi jar, mix well and pour to the mix.

Again add one glass water, mix well.

Smash soaked tamarind, add its juice .

Mix well and add half glass water, if the curry is too thick.

Switch off the flame , keep the pot, add half tablespoon of crystal salt , mix well.

Keep on high flame , stir well, don't allow to boil.

When it starts bubbling, switch off the flame .

Continue to stir well for a minute again.

Switch on the flame , keep a pan and add two tablespoon of coconut oil.

When oil gets hot, add quarter tablespoon of mustard seeds, when the mustard seeds splutters, add 3 chopped shallots.

Stir well until golden brown.

Then add one dry red chili, add a fistful of cleaned and washed drumstick leaves , stir well and add to the curry.

Drumstick leaves cooks easily, cover for 5 minutes .

After 5 minutes , open and stir well.

Serve with hot rice.


Ingredients Grated Coconut - 5 Tablespoon Cumin Seeds - Quarter Teaspoon Turmeric Powder - Small Pinch Red Chili Powder - Quarter Teaspoon Shallots - 9Nos Garlic - 2Nos Tamarind - One Small Ball Size Coconut oil - 2 Tablespoon Mustard Seeds - Quarter Tablespoon Dry Red Chili - 1Nos Drumstick Leaves - One Fistful Crystal Salt - As Per Taste Water - Two And A half Glass
