Pazham Appam ||Banana Appam || Ep No : 79
Take 5 ripe palayankudan banana.
Cut into pieces and put in the mixi jar.
Add 10 tablespoon of sugar, grind well without adding water.
Add half glass of water to the mixi and blend once.Add to the batter.
Add 2 cups of Roasted rice flour ( used for puttu / steamed funnel cake ).
one cup of freshly grated coconut , cardamom powder from 12 fresh cardamoms.
Mix well , check sugar, add if required.
Prepare batter in a semi thick consistency by adding water.
To a steamer add 2 cups of water , keep a banana leaf and spread prepared batter.
Keep on high flame initially until steam comes out and then reduce the flame.
Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
Check cooking level with a tooth pick / skewer.
When it cooked well, switch off the flame.
Open and keep until it cools.
Transfer to a plate when it cools.
Cut into pieces and serve as a healthy snack.
