Drum stick tree is considered as 'super plant' in our system as per ayurveda due to its unique and powerful properties. Drumstick Leaves are rich source of Iron. It regulates blood pressure and control cholesterol. It boosts immunity and purify blood.Drumstick Leaves are rich in anti oxidents. It has many significant vitamins and minerals. The leaves of drumsticks are seven times more vitamin C than oranges and fifteen times more potassium than that in banana's. Moreover it consists of protein, amino acids and calcium which is very much essential to develop body muscles.



 In an earthen pot , pour 3 litres of water , make it hot.

Take one glass of rice, and three fourth glass of green gram, half tablespoon of fenugreek.

The rice cooks easily along with green gram, that's why putting altogether.

If rice won't cook easily, then half cook rice first and then add green gram.

Wash well for three grams and put it in the hot water of the earthen pot.

Cover and bring to boil on high flame.

Reduce the flame when it boiled well.

When porridge is half cooked, add 15 shallots to it.

When porridge is almost done, add 5 dry red chilies , and washed drum stick leaves.

Never cook drumstick leaves.

Drumstick leaves cooks with the steam of porridge itself.

Add 5 tablespoon of grated coconut, 2 tablespoons of crystal salt, stir well.

Adding salt at last helps to cook green gram properly.

Put off the flame and serve hot.

To a plate keep one dry red chili and 2 or3 shallots while serving.

Make the porridge spicy with dry red chili.





Ingredients 

Rice - One Cup

Green Gram- Three Fourth Cup

Fenugreek Seeds - Half Tablespoon

Drum Stick Leaves - Three Fistful

Grated Coconut - One Cup

Shallots - 3 Nos

Dry Red Chili - 5 Nos

Salt - As Per Taste

Water- As Required
