Choora Meen Thala Curry || Tuna Fish Head Curry || Ep No :82


Tuna is a salt water fish, which belongs to tribe Thunnini. Its a subgroup of Mackerel family, scombridae.
Kingdom : Animalia Phylum :Chordata Class :Actinopterygii Order : Scombriformes
It is a source of high quality protein with no fat. It contain all essential amino acids required by the body for the maintenance of lean muscle tissue of the body. Tuna is a good source of omega - 3 fatty acids which is important for heart health.

Take a medium size tuna fish which costs around 250/- Indian Rupees as of February 2021 in Kerala.

Take its head, bones , small pieces of tail portion of tune fish.

In a mixi jar take 6 tablespoon of grated coconut, quartet teaspoon turmeric powder

Add 5 shallots, 5 garlic , add water and grind well.

Put 2 sticks curry leaves and crush again.

To the fish add 4 pieces of Malabar tamarind , one tablespoon crystal salt, half teaspoon chopped ginger , 4 sliced green chilies and prepared mix.

Add 2 glasses of water to the earthen pot , cover and keep on fire wood.

Keep on high flame initially.

After 6 minutes the curry gets boils , then reduce the flame.

Stir in between and check salt after 15 minutes.

Cover and cook for another 30 minutes.

When cooked well, add one stick curry leaves and off the flame.

After 5 minutes , serve hot with tapioca.



Ingredients

Tuna Head -One Medium Size

Grated Coconut - 6 Tablespoon

Turmeric Powder - Quarter Teaspoon

Coriander Powder - Half Tablespoon

Dry Red Chili Powder - 2 Tablespoon

Shallots - 5 Nos

Garlic - 5 Nos

Curry Leaves -3 Nos

Malabar Tamarind - 4 Pieces

Ginger - Small Piece

Green Chilies - 4 nos

Water - 2 Glass
