Dhal Curry Kerala Style || Parippu Curry ||With Sambar Dhal||Ep No :58

 Here's the recipe of dhal curry in Kerala style,which is best combination with hot rice and chappathi.



Take 100 grams of sambar dhal , wash and soak overnight.

Next day wash the soaked sambar dhal once again and transfer to a pressure cooker, add half glass water and cook for a whistle on medium flame. 

After a whistle , switch off the flame and wait till the pressure goes off.

Take 6 tablespoon of grated coconut , a pinch of turmeric powder , one sliced shallot , one tablespoon chili powder , and half tablespoon cumin seeds.

Add some water and grind into fine paste.

When the pressure in the cooker, completely goes off, open and transfer the cooked dhal to an earthen pot.Add 5 sliced shallots along with half glass of water.

When it start boiling ,add the prepared mix to the curry after adding half tablespoon of salt and bring to boil on high flame.

When it start boiling , switch off the flame.

Keep an iron pan and add 2 tablespoon of coconut oil .

When it heat up,add quarter teaspoon mustard seeds, 2 dry red chilies and 2 sticks of fresh curry leaves.

Pour the seasoning to the dhal curry , cover and keep for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes , serve with hot rice or chapathi.


Ingredients

Sambar Dhal - 100 grams

Grated Coconut - 6 Tablespoon

Turmeric Powder- One Pinch

Shallots - 6 Numbers

Chili Powder - One Tablesoon

Cumin Seeds -Half Tablespoon

Salt - As Per Taste

Water - As Required

For Seasoning :

Coconut Oil - 2 Tablespoon

Mustard Seeds - Quarter Teaspoon

Dry Red Chili - 2 Nos

Curry Leaves  - 2 Sticks
