It’s a tasty and
delicious Sardine fish fry using green pepper.
Prepare the
marination first for frying sardine fish.
Take 10 strips of
green pepper, 4 small pieces of ginger,20 bird’s eye chilies, 10 garlic and 3
small onions.
Separate the pepper
from its stem.
Chop ginger and small
onion into small pieces and put into a mixi jar along with garlic, bird’s eye
chilies and green pepper.
Add half teaspoon of
turmeric powder and half teaspoon salt to it.
Grind it without
adding water and make it as a fine paste.
Take half kilograms
of sardine fish.
Wash and clean it
with salt.
Make small scratches
over the fish so that it get marinated well.
Marinate the fish
properly.
Marinated fish can be
stored in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days.
Allow the marinated
fish to rest for minimum half an hour.
It’s good if you can
keep the marinated fish overnight in the fridge.
Keep a pan over the
flame and add coconut oil.
When oil gets hot,
add marinated fish pieces to the pan.
When the fish pieces
half cooked, add a fistful of fresh curry leaves.
Fresh curry leaves
gives good aroma to the fish fry.
When one side of the
fish cooked well, flip on the opposite side.
Cook on a very slow
flame.
Some likes the crispy
fish fry, but others like it juicy.
Keep more time on
flame if you need to get a crispy fish fry.
This one is a crispy
sardine fish fry.
When it’s ready,
switch off the flame.
Keep the pan in a
sliding way, so that the extra oil will accumulate one side.
Never use the
remaining oil again as it causes serious health issues.
This sardine fry can
be served along with hot rice or tapioca.
Pepper can be planted
in a pot which requires very less sunlight, less space and thus can be planted
by everyone.
This will provide
pepper throughout the year.
Another one is the creeper
pepper plant.
We are using young
pepper for the recipe.
The time to cultivate
pepper is from November to February.
But before that is
the ideal time to prepare the dish as the pepper has less spice level.
Bird’s eye chili is
mandatory for the recipe.
It will not give good
taste if you add green chilies or red chilies.
Adding small ginger
adds flavor and special taste to the fish fry.
