Its a medicinal porridge which is usually consumed during Monsoon season in Kerala.All ingredients are available in the local ayurvedic shop.This porridge is prepared with very few ingredients with very less amount.This amount is adequate for 2 to 3 persons.Usually medicinal porridge is prepared in earthen pot.   Here is the recipe of boiled elephant yam.  For that take one medium size yam. Always try to boil as soon as it taken out from the plant, so that it cooks well and give you better taste. As days pass on, the yam won’t cook well. This elephant yam is planted in the month of February ,that can be taken for cooking by the month of August. During August and September the yam usually cooks well. So if you keep yam for 2 to 3 days after taken out from soil also will not affect the cooking time.   It’s regarding grilled Kerala banana in traditional way. Choose banana which is perfectly ripped for the recipe. It should not be over ripped or under ripped. But banana should start ripening is the perfect time to grill them. Moreover when we apply pressure it should press down slightly. Select bananas which is small and thin. Here taking 2 bananas for grilling. The live coals from the big fire woods are perfect for grilling bananas. Now we need good live coals in the firewood. Keep the bananas in the live coal and cover them fully with coals. Then cover the bananas and coal with ash. Ash provides more heat which helps bananas to cook properly. It takes around 30 to 45 minutes to cook perfectly. And the time depends on the heat of the coal and the size and shape of the bananas.   It’s a tasty and delicious Sardine fish fry using green pepper. Prepare the marination first for frying sardine fish. Take 10 strips of green pepper, 4 small pieces of ginger,20 bird’s eye chilies, 10 garlic and 3 small onions. Separate the pepper from its stem. Chop ginger and small onion into small pieces and put into a mixi jar along with garlic, bird’s eye chilies and green pepper. Add half teaspoon of turmeric powder and half teaspoon salt to it. Grind it without adding water and make it as a fine paste. Take half kilograms of sardine fish. Wash and clean it with salt. Make small scratches over the fish so that it get marinated well. Marinate the fish properly. Marinated fish can be stored in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days. Allow the marinated fish to rest for minimum half an hour. Ingredients Dry Red Snapper Fish - 1 Nos Bird's Eye Chili - 18 Nos Small Onion - 1 Nos Grated Coconut- 2 Table spoon Method of Preparation Here using dry Red snapper fish for the dish. Remove outer skin , head and fins of the fish. Its not necessary to remove the skin before cooking. Preparing the dish in very small quantity ,that's why took only one fish.
