 Earthen pot / clay pot biriyani is the one in which all the ingredients are kept inside the earthen pot and cook over the fire flame / stove top.The flavor of clay from the pot and wrapped banana leaf make the dish so delicious. Its a yummy, easy and simple different dish for you to try out at your home . Its a must try recipe for those who love cooking and madly in love with eating Biriyani.



Ingredients

Chicken boneless pieces- 250 grams
Turmeric powder- Half teaspoon
Kashmiri chili powder- One teaspoon
Ginger garlic paste- One teaspoon
Curd ( thick ) - 3 teaspoon
Basmathi rice- One cup
Onion-3 Nos
Shallots - 30 Nos
Tomatoes- 2 Nos
Green chili - 6 Nos
Garlic- 10 Nos
Ginger - One small piece
Dry red chili - 4 Nos
Kashmiri red chili - 5 Nos
Cinnamon- A small stick
Mace - One petal
Fennel seeds - One teaspoon
Star Anise - One Nos
Cardamoms - 5 Nos
Cloves - 5 Nos
Coriander ( whole )- Half teaspoon
Black pepper ( whole ) - Half teaspoon
Mint leaves - One fistful
Coriander leaves - One fistful
Cashew nuts - On fistful
Raisins- One fistful
Coconut oil - Half cup
Ghee- One teaspoon
Water - Two and half cup
Salt - As per taste
Banana leaf- One  Nos




Method of preparation

Take 250 grams of washed and drained boneless chicken pieces and marinate with half teaspoon turmeric powder,one teaspoon kashmiri chili powder,one teaspoon ginger garllic paste and 3 teaspoon thick curd
Allow to rest for 1 to 2 hours or keep overnight in refrigerator if possible
Take one glass of Basmathi rice, wash and soak for half an hour
Take 3 onion and chop lengthwise
Take 30 shallots and chop well
Take 2 small tomatoes and chop well
Take 6 green chilies,10 garlic and a piece of ginger and crush well
Take 4 dry red chili , 5 kashmiri chili ,a stick of cinnamon,a petal mace,one teaspoon fennel seeds, one star anise,5 cardamoms,5 cloves, half teaspoon whole coriander and half teaspoon black pepper
Take some fresh mint and coriander leaves and a fistful of cashew nuts and raisins
Take an earthen pot and add coconut oil for frying onion
To the heated oil add chopped onion and fry till golden brown color
To the same oil roast cashew nuts and raisins
Add a teaspoon of ghee to the remaining oil
Add chopped shallots, add salt and sort well
Once the color of shallots changes, add crushed ginger, garlic and stir well
Add tomato and cook well
Add crushed green chili and sort well
Now add masala and cook till the raw smell goes off
Now add the marinated chicken pieces
Add quarter glass of water and cook chicken pieces
Once it boils add fried onions and stir well
To the half cooked chicken add required salt
When the chicken cooks add mint and coriander leaves
Add some roasted cashew nuts and raisins
Pour two cups of hot water and add soaked Basmathi rice
Add required salt for rice and cook well
When water boils check salt and add if required
When rice is half cooked add fresh mint and coriander leaves
Then take a banana leaf and cover the pot
Allow to cook the rice fully
Check rice if its cooked well , put off the flame
