Semiya Payasam|| Vermicelli Payasam||Ep No :197

 Semiya payasam is a dessert prepared with roasted sago rice, vermicelli,cashew nuts,raisins and milk.This is my all time favorite dessert.Here is the recipe of my mother, who prepares this on all special occasions like birthdays of myself , my brother and all festivals.This is the favorite payasam of my brother too.It is very easy to prepare and have a sweet creamy flavor which tastes delicious after adding roasted nuts and raisins with ghee.This semiya payasam always has special place in my heart, since it gives lot of memories of my childhood and the unforgettable moments when mother used to prepare.The cardamom adds a special flavor to the dessert.This sweet simple and deliciously flavored semiya payasam is one of the best Indian desserts ever.

Ingredients

Vermicelli/ Semiya-250 grams
Sabudana- Quarter glass
Ghee- Two tablespoon
Milk - One Litre
Cashewnuts- One fistful
Raisins- One fistful
Sugar - Two cups 
Water- Four glasses
Cardamoms- Six Nos


Method of preparation

Boil one litre milk.
Boil two glasses of water and cook sabudana.
Add one teaspoon of ghee and roast vermicelli.
Now add two glasses of water, boil well.
Add roasted vermicelli to it.
Bring boil and cook well.
Once vermicelli cooked well, add cooked sabudana.
Then add boiled one litre milk.
Roast a fistful of cashewnuts and raisins in one teaspoon ghee and transfer to payasam.
Then add crushed six cardamoms, stir well. 
Add two cups of sugar , stir well.
Serve hot or cold.
