Kerala bananas or Nendran bananas hail from Kerala, where they are a staple fruit.They have a pale yellow color with silky flesh and compared to other varieties , they have distinct color and texture owing to the cultivation adopted for this variety.A banana weighing 100 grams contains 90 calories.The number of calories in a banana range from 2 to 135 depending on the size and weight of the fruit.A sliced up of serving of 150 grams banana contains 134 calories while one mashed up of 225 gram banana contains 200 claories.They are low in calories and high in fiber , which keep you full for longer periods, reducing the chances of snacking between meals.


Ingredients

Kerala banana- Three Nos, Medium size
Jaggery- Half cup
First extracted coconut milk-Quarter glass
Second extracted coconut milk - Half glass
Third extracted coconut milk -Half glass
Cardamom- Five Nos
Ghee- One teaspoon


Method of preparation

Take three medium size Kerala banana , chop into pieces.
Take one glass second and third extracted coconut milk.
Add half a cup of jaggery, stir well.
Now add chopped banana pieces ,stir well.
Cook on medium flame, bring to boil.
Cook for five minutes on medium flame.
Now add a teaspoon of ghee and half a teaspoon of crushed cardamom.Stir well.
Then add quarter glass of thick first extracted coconut milk , mix well and
Switch off the flame .
Serve hot .
The best combination is steamed funnel cake/ puttu.
