Soft Gothambu Puttu|| Wheat Funnel Cake|| With Tips || Ep No :147

 


Here's the recipe of puttu or steamed Funnel Cake in an traditional way. It's a healthy breakfast that can be taken by all age groups. As it's prepared in steam, it is the best choice for people with health issues. The best combination is banana or black chickpeas curry /Bengal Gram curry made in Kerala Style. It should be served hot to enjoy its softness and taste. Even for kids it can be given along with sugar.The wheat flour prepared freshly will give you an authentic taste of Kerala Puttu.



Method Of Preparation

Take one glass wheat flour , which is the whole wheat washed , drained, sun dried and made as flour in the mill.
In a bowl , take 4 tablespoon of roasted rice flour which is using for steamed rice funnel cake.
Take one glass water, add quarter teaspoon of salt, mix well.
Pour generously to the rice flour , and make it as a paste.
Now add one glass of wheat flour to the rice flour.
Mix gently, sprinkle water if required.
Then bring flour altogether and keep for one or two minutes.
After two minutes again mix the flour by adding four tablespoon of grated coconut.
Then take the funnel cake maker and add one tablespoon of grated coconut first.
And then add the prepared wheat flour mix to the puttu maker.
Now keep some water in a pressure cooker and allow it to boil.
When the steam comes out, keep the puttu maker over the whistle and cook on medium flame.
Once steam comes out through the upper part of funnel cake maker, switch off the flame.
Take out the funnel cake and enjoy with spicy gram dhal curry.



Ingredients
Wheat Flour - One Glass
Roasted Rice Flour - Four Tablespoon
Water - As Required
Freshly Grated Coconut - Five Tablespoon
Salt - As Per Taste
