The cowpea is an annual herbaceous legume belongs to the genus vigna.It requires very few inputs, as the plant's root nodules are able to fix atmospheric nitrogen .The crop mainly grown for its seeds , which are high in protein, although the leaves and immature seed pods can also be consumed.
Method Of Preparation
Take two bundles of cow pea , collect the beans from it and chop the younger peas.ash well
Wash well under running water for three to four times and keep it in an earthen pot.
In a mixi jar , add four tablespoon of coconut , two shallots , three garlic , ten birds eye chilies , quarter teaspoon of cumin seeds, quarter teaspoon of turmeric powder and a stick of fresh curry leaves.
Crush without adding water.
Switch on the flame and the cowpeas , add salt and mix well .
Add grinded mix , cover and cook on high flame.
Once cowpeas cooked well , switch off the flame .
Serve with hot rice.

Fresh Cowpea -Two Bundles
Freshly Grated Coconut -Four Tablespoon
Shallots -2Nos
Garlic -3Nos
Bird's Eye Chili -10 Nos
Turmeric Powder -Quarter Teaspoon
Cumin Seeds - Quarter Teaspoon
Salt - As Per Taste
Fresh Curry Leaves - Two Sticks
