Kadala Roast || Kala Chana Roast || Brown Chick Peas/ Bengal Gram Roast Ep no : 74
Take 250 grams of black chickpeas and soak well for minimum hours.
Rinse and wash well for three times under running water.
Transfer the washed chick peas into a pressure cooker and cook for 3 whistles.
After 3 minutes, switch off the flame and wait until the pressure goes off.
Chop 3 green chilies.
When pressure is fully released , open cooker and check the cooking level of chick peas.
Keep a pan and add one tablespoon of coconut oil, when it get heated up,add quarter teaspoon of mustard seeds.
When it splutters, add chopped green chilies.
When green chilies are sorted well , add one stick fresh curry leaves.
Transfer the entire cooked chickpeas to it along with water.
Stir well, keep on high flame .
Cook till the water reduces in the chick peas.
But do not over dry the chick peas.
When its dry enough, switch off the flame.
The best combination with this Brown chick peas roast is hot rice porridge.
But can be used as a side dish for rice too.

Brown Chick Peas- 250 Grams
Coconut Oil - One Tablespoon
Mustard Seeds - Quarter Teaspoon
Green Chilies - 3 Nos
Curry Leaves - One Stick
Salt - As Per Taste
Water - As Required
