 Kerala's rains are mostly the result of seasonal monsoons.As a result, Kerala averages some 12-140 rainy days per year.In summer , most of Kerala is prone to gale- force winds , storm surges, and torrential downpours accompanying in off the Indian ocean.The monsoon in Kerala extends from June to September , characterised by heavy rainfall and cool temperatures.The presence of low pressure system in Arabian sea besides the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify the rain in Kerala and Lakshadweep.The well - marked low- pressure system existing in the Bay of Bengal is likely to concentrate into a depression and thereafter into a cyclonic storm over east central Bay of Bengal , next day.
