  Jackfruit is mostly known as Jack tree, which belongs to the species of mulberry and breadfruit family. It's origin is in rainforests of Malasiya and western Ghats of South India.  Nenmara Vellanghy Vela is a festival of Nellikulangara Bhagavathy Temple. Nenmara and vellanghy are two neighboring villages at the valley of Nelliyampathi hills. The paddy fields of these villages are turned to festival place after harvesting. The festival is on April 2nd or 3rd of every year. The flag raise for the festival on first of Malayalam calender Meenam month. The celebration continues for 20 days and the final day is the fire work. It is the festival of colors. Panchavadyam and Pandimelam hosted by the famous persons of Kerala. There are Anapandals which is made of bamboo and woods decorated with small bulbs. There are elephant processions too from both villages. Elephants come to Nelliyampathi temple and give honor to Nellikulangara Bhagavathi and then starts the fireworks.
